Do Nest cameras and doorbells work without internet?

Answer: Partly. Google says supported Nest cameras and doorbells store up to one hour of events in internal memory during a Wi-Fi outage and upload them when the connection returns. You cannot access that memory directly.

Google lists up to one hour of internal-memory backup for Nest Cam Indoor (wired, 3rd gen), Nest Cam Outdoor (wired, 2nd gen), Nest Cam (wired), Nest Cam (battery), Nest Doorbell (battery) and Nest Doorbell (wired, 3rd and 2nd gen). The memory is not user-accessible; events upload after reconnecting. 1

Nest Aware has been replaced by Google Home Premium. Advanced costs $20/month or $200/year and includes 60 days of event history plus 10 days of 24/7 video. 2
