Answer: Mostly, for recording. eufy's outage chart says most listed eufy cameras and doorbells keep working when the internet is out and power is on (indoor and outdoor C-series cameras need a microSD card), but you can't reach them through the eufy Security app while your router is down, and clips recorded during the outage can be lost if the router or HomeBase restarts. The chart does not list current models such as the SoloCam S340 or Video Doorbell E340.

eufy publishes a chart of what happens to its devices in a power or internet outage. With power on and internet out, it says the eufyCam series, SoloCam E/L/S models, floodlight cameras and wired and battery doorbells "work normally" (battery models if charged), and the Indoor and Outdoor Camera C22/C24/P22/P24 models work normally if they have a microSD card. It also warns that when the router is off you can't access eufy devices through the app, and that videos recorded during the outage will be lost if the router or HomeBase is restarted. 1

Two limits matter. First, the chart is about older models; it does not list the SoloCam S340 or Video Doorbell E340 we score, so their offline behavior is marked Unverified on our pages. Second, "works normally" means recording locally, not remote viewing; with no internet there is no app access at all. 1

Where does eufy store video without the cloud?

On the camera or a HomeBase, depending on the model; eufy's compatibility table lists which devices support local storage, NAS and cloud backup. The SoloCam S340, for example, stores on the camera. 23

Does eufy need a subscription?

eufy sells the S340 with local storage and "No Monthly Fee"; cloud backup is optional. 3

Has eufy had privacy problems?

Yes. In 2022 researchers showed eufy streams could be viewed in VLC, and in January 2023 Anker admitted the web portal had not used end-to-end encryption as promised. See our incidents tracker. 45

Does eufy work with Home Assistant?

Not officially for cameras: Home Assistant's eufy integration covers lights and switches; community add-ons exist. 6
